Michelle founded Bean and Bemble in 2020 during the COVID-19 lockdowns after returning to the UK after 7 years living in the Middle East. As the proud owner of a first-class honours degree in Printed Textiles and Surface Pattern Design, the business represented the culmination of months of hard work, combined with a strong desire to finally use her degree and years of design experience to create something truly fabulous. Her vibrant homeware and gift collections are inspired by a love of colour, animals, nature and striking product design. Each piece blends intricate hand-drawn illustrations with clean, precise digital graphics to create bright, colourful and uplifting designs, applied to beautiful yet practical household products, colourful wall art and soft furnishings that bring joy and personality to any space.

Simon joined Bean and Bemble in 2025 for the opening of our physical store, with a collection of bespoke dining tables of his own design, crafted with care and attention to detail. With experience as a bench joiner and working in interior design, he has a passion for natural materials and timeless design, his work blends traditional joinery with contemporary style to create furniture that’s built to last. He also refurbishes and reimagines older pieces of furniture - giving them a fresh, modern lease of life while maintaining their original character.

Our colourful shop and studio is based in lovely Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, where you’ll find our range of art, home accessories, decor, gifts, and a selection of bespoke furniture. We also showcase a growing, handpicked collection of products from other beautiful British brands, artists and designers. Around 90% of Bean and Bemble’s core product range is either entirely made or carefully hand-finished in the UK. We’re passionate about supporting British manufacturing, using premium materials and ethical production wherever possible.
